中醫眼科講座後視光師回應(1)

數月前為香港一個視光學機構系列培訓中作了一個關於中醫眼科講座,以下為其中一位視光師之回應。

It is a great experience to explore optometry from the view of Chinese medicine. It is encouraging for patients and practitioners to know that the field loss from some ocular diseases can be slowed down. More effort is needed to promote the role of Chinese medicine in the treatment and more researches are needed to investigate how Chinese medicine is used in the diagnosis of ocular diseases….
Among all the topics, the Chinese Medicine Ophthalmology impressed me most. Being an optometrist, nearly all the professional knowledge I learnt was of scientific base. My knowledge about Chinese Medicine is very limited. After listening to the sharing by Mr. Wong, I changed my views towards the Chinese Medicine Ophthalmology. He presented the cases with convincing photos and data. Even in some irreversible eye diseases like glaucoma, a patient showed improvement in the visual field after applying the Chinese medicine. His sharing did broaden my horizons. Although Chinese medicine seems to have little connections to my career, this speech reminded me some of the remarkable sayings: Nothing is impossible, dare to try, dreams may come true.
